1) Physical appearance. Although there are hundreds of causes of low self esteem, there are just a few symptoms that start to show, of which weight gain is one of the most predominant. Generally when we feel low, we automatically turn to food to pacify ourselves and hence we start to gain weight.

The woman on the other hand, starts to feel as if the husband no longer loves her and often due to this emotional stress, the woman starts to also turn to food and gain weight.
